Do a nomination round. That way people have to Campaign, I like to make people work.

I'm definitely all about nominations. Definitely nominations.
I agree that it should be by Nomination. Better to start with something rather than free-for-all.
I would also suggest a category on CFAs - i.e. come from aways. You know... those new to the NWT who have moved here recently. I have seen a few good blogs that might fall in this category. :-)
How do folks feel about having bloggers nominate themselves? We could have people decide which categories they want to be considered in, and then put forward the posts they want people to judge. This is how they do Best Post for the Nunies, but I think it would work for the other categories, too.
This would eliminate the vote splitting we get when people have more than one post or blog nominated in a category.
No Litblog Award? Or to really seal the deal, how about Best Blog by a Mutford?
How about Best Theme Blog? It could cover things like Book Mine Set, Grant's Tomb, The Music Is Me, and Eentsy Weentsy Dog. I really admire people who are able to stick to a particular topic and theme, but we don't have enough of them to be able to split them up.
A best theme blog would be sweet. Definitely sweet. There might be some bias based on what theme people like best, though, and not necessarily how well their posts are written about that specific topic.
I think Youth blog should be for people under 20. Sounds about right.
I like everyone nominating themselves for the categories they feel they deserve.
I also like Best Theme Blog. Which could be grouped with Best Blog about a Place, of which I can name only two.
